Trip to Antarctica First Time for the Power Packed Team
The on time arrival at the airport must have seemed the warmest homecoming after 18 days in the icy Antarctica. The four members of the Antarctic expedition were back at a hero's party from nearly three weeks at the bottom of the Earth. Because of this, it has been an amazing and emotional event and worth the record for the history. Go to this site for further information on affordable travel to antarctica.
A homecoming celebration was prepared when the arrival day of Antarctica's scientific expedition finally came after the unwanted weather restricted them for about 10 additional days. An hour earlier as the airplane had arrived, intimate relatives and friends sat on the black plastic airport chairs peering out the large windows on the runway and glancing at their watches. Down the hallway, there were 25 students gathered with teachers and parents, nibbling turkey sandwiches and were about to pamper their teacher with hugs. Troops brought a lot of heart structured balloons, a bundle of roses and a pile of handcrafted welcome signs bearing images of penguins. The four team members brought two backpacks of meteorites which will be taken photographs, cut open and experimented and shared tales about their accomplished mission. The expedition also compromised two expert astronauts who worked at NASA before, a scientist from NASA and a resident of Chicago who contributed notably in funding part of the expedition.
The journey leads the team to the Patriot Hills of Antarctica, South Pole and Thiel Mountains not so high as the Rockies, yet just as stunning. With regard to the technology they had along the trip, there was a complaint back in the States. They had satellite phones that were no good. Providing them of memories of what they let behind were these. Surely he will be continuing his prior occupation n a populated continent as a professor of astronomy and geology. To get a closer look on trips to antarctica visit this site. In the past, they have experienced this kind of adventure in an unfamiliar territory already. From the coast of the Black Sea last summer was where two of them and their scientific team were able to view the solar eclipse in Turkey. It was over there where they also encountered a similar predicament as their unanticipated extended stay in Antarctica. At the time there was an intense earthquake and so they stayed long after the solar eclipse was over. Luckily the two were 200 miles away from the epicenter of the earthquake and so they only encountered a magnitude of 5.5. When it comes to the Antarctica trip he liked the camaraderie best but he also considered this to be a less stressful trip with its blue ice fields not to mention the snow covered scenery. For the team which had a retired NASA scientist it was somewhat an exclusive club. Actually they were very down to earth, people you could easily converse with. They favored fun over egos.
Their days in Antarctica, even the unanticipated ones, were filled with reading, talking, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling. One month ago, the 24 year old team member modeled for reporters and staff members what she planned to wear on her scientific excursion, boots, goggles, heavy gloves and an energetic smile. A sweatshirt and some jeans plus some sneakers were what she wore back home with her cheerful smile. Her voyage to the Mars like continent was a result of her using space science in her classes. It was a mind blowing learning experience for the students. To learn is to tie everything in. To have a teacher being an explorer, the kids are living science and living history. Similar to the experiments back home were the ones she did during this trip normally focused on gravity, temperature, and rocks. Used to transmit the information to 11 classrooms were satellite phone and email as well. The questions raised and answers that were provided were hilarious. The variation among the answers caused the laughter. It was that results can differ when experiments are done in a snowy desert where temperatures are well below zero that the students learned from her.
