Yes, that's right. It means don't trust your enemies. It comes from the story of the Wooden Horse of Troy that the Greeks used to trick their way into the city. The built a big horse for the enemy and the troops hid inside of it. When they gave them the gift, they got out of the horse and attacked.

wat can be presented to a host family in japan? need some help pls.

When I homestayed in Japan, I brought a miniature quilt my Mom made and some buffalo and elk jerky. It was a big hit!

My parents came in April and brought a "Colorado" sample pack of stuff from Colorado (their home state) with Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory chocolates, Buffalo Jerky, Canned Rocky Mountain Oysters, pickled Okra, peach Jam, Colorado roasted coffee, as well as some mountain scenery playing cards, etc. They really enjoyed it!

Some people also like alcohol, wines from your region or some drink from a duty free shop.

i heard the statues of the saints where acutally pagan stautes like false gods is this true?

if it is i need links and history pharses

Thats historically debatable.

If you check the list of saints you will see many names that you feel are famous pagan heroes/heroines (Briget, Castor, Pollux, St George) or pagan gods (Diana, Apollo, Helios, Bacchus, Dionysus, Nereus, Aphrodite, Mercury, Silvanus) either seeming to be directly named or referenced in a description as the real name or alias of a saint (for some reason) named differently in their sainthood.

The descriptions of those saints is not anything like the mythical beings. In fact, they are usually very minor even in the category of being a saint. Almost "filler" in feel.

Of course it could be that these were fairly common names at one time. And it has been verified that christians de-sanctified temples and statues by converting them to the saint of the same name.

But there are many books out that claim outright fraud in the intent to denounce the original. Some of the books try to point out that the first appearance of the saint seems to coincide with temples to that being causing a problem. Handily providing christians with a way to convert both the site and the people paying it homage.

But as I say, its all up for debate, or proof, or belief. Your choice.

where online can you find how much your boyd's bears are worth?

Please dont say E bay! For one reason, I have no clue how to work e bay, and two, I have bears that are retired and a few limited edition bears and I just would like to know the value of them. Also, I have a few bears that do NOT have tags but still has the sewn on tag on their bottoms or legs....I'd like to know their names. Some have investment collectables tags on them... some have a sewn on tag on the bottom of their foot that says commemorative edition with all the attached tags....three have gotton a tiny bit dingy like the white ones; and I would like to wash them.. should I take them to the dry cleaners? Or washing machine? Any insight on websites that list todays value for retired bears, or limited edition bears... ANY website that you can type in the tags numbers and the bears imfo pops up.... anything like that is what i am hoping for. Thanks guys!

Is a Build a Bear a good Christmas Gift?

Its a Christmas gift for my girlfriend. I've been told Build-a-Bears are creative gifts, and I want to get her something good that she'll be able to remember me by. I was also planning on clothing the bear, to give it more personality. Is a build a bear a good Christmas gift, or should I sway away to another idea. If it is, what animal would you recommend? (she doesn't like cats)

You're going to get this response a lot, I think, but I'm going to say it anyway - she will like anything you get her.
The fact that you are putting a lot of thought into this makes it that much better. Believe it or not, a good share of us women are all about the thought put into a gift, no matter what it is. To me, stuffed animals of any kind seem to be more personal, and something that can be kept for years after.

If you think she'd enjoy something like this, why not? Personally, I would appreciate something as such! =]

How much should it cost me to fix some of the mechanisms in my clutch? I don't need any thing exact!

I'm thinking that my throw-out bearing is broken. I also know that my clutch is still giving power to the transmission even after I press it in, so maybe there's an issue with simply the adjustments.

A new clutch was put in about 1,500 miles ago right before I bougt it, so I'm guessing someone messed it up when they replaced it.

All I really need to know is if this will burn a hole in my wallet, because if so I'll need to start riding my bike for a while until I'm sure I can afford it!

FYI It's a 1999 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport, I love the clutch on there but it's always been acting up since I bought it in November.

It sounds like the clutch slave cylinder is bad. this isnt too expensive if it is an external unit. probably about 200 dollars.If it is an internal unit(i.e. inside the bellhousing) expect it to cost at least$500.
